SSB has released an advertisement in its official website for the recruitment of Constables ( Drivers ) under the pay scale of Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with grade pay of Rs. 2000/-. Only male Indian Nationals are invited and can apply latest by 30th June 2011. Selected candidates will get placement any where in India according to the transfer policy of the force.
Total 649 vacancies are available for the post of Constables in the rank of Drivers. Out of which, 225 vacancies are for general category, 217 for SC, 49 for ST and rest 149 for OBC. For this post, candidates age should not be less than 18 years and even not more than 28 years as on 1st August 2011. Minimum qualification required is that candidates should have passed matriculation examination or its equivalent from any government recognized board and also should posses a valid heavy vehicle driving license.
Selection will be made on the basis of written test. At the very first stage, after getting admit card, candidates has to present original documents and after that eligible candidates has to go for physical Standard Test ( PST ) and then Physical efficiency Test ( PET ). After qualifying all these test, candidates will have to give written test which will be of 50 marks from general awareness, GK, Mathematics, analytical Aptitude, knowledge of trade theory. after clearing the written test, driving / technical test of 50 marks will be held and at last Medical examination will be done. The final selection will be made according to the merit of each tests.
